I live in the UK; can I get legally married in France?
The simple answer is ‘no’. In France you must be legally married in a town hall ‘mairie’ and to do this; either you or your parents must be resident in France. For further information please see our blog.
Can I still conduct a ceremony in France?
Yes of course. Most couples having a destination wedding will have their legal ceremony done locally and then have a ‘faux’ ceremony done on the day. If done right this does not detract any emotion from the day and the vast majority of guests won’t even realise.
What size of weddings do you usually organise?
We generally plan weddings for c100 guests, however we are equally happy planning for far grander or more intimate celebrations.
Are you tied to any particular suppliers?
No. We believe that as wedding planners it is our responsibility to help organise the wedding of your dreams, this involves ascertaining exactly what you are looking for and finding the appropriate vendors to provide this.
How long in advance should I start planning my wedding?
How long is a piece of string? It is really up to you, but from our point of view – the earlier the better. Most couples begin planning, in some form, as soon as they are engaged. Generally, we would suggest somewhere around a year in advance is typical, to give you the best opportunity of finding your dream location; but the earlier the better.
What is the process to appoint you as a wedding planner?
For ourselves we would recommend an initial meeting (either face to face or over the phone) whereby you get the opportunity to decide if you feel we can provide the service you are looking for. From there we can discuss what exactly you are looking for and what level of assistance you would require. Every couple is different.
How much does it cost to appoint a wedding planner?
Again this varies dramatically. For our service it entirely depends on what kind of service you are looking for. If you want a rough estimate please just email. Additionally, we hope to negate some of this cost via the acquisition of vendor discounts.
How much input would I have if I appointed a wedding planner?
At Rose Gold we believe that the most important thing is organising your dream wedding exactly how you would like it. Therefore you are the boss, you decide how much input you would like. We are equally happy arranging the whole event as just acting as an intermediary. Our only stipulation is that we know what kind of event you are looking for so that we can be confident that our work will result in you being happy.
Do you take care of transport for guests?
Yes. The guests are the most important thing about a wedding. It is our pleasure to arrange transport should this be required.
Can you negotiate discounts with providers?
We will always try. Whilst not being a Marrakech Souk trader we like to think that we know a thing or two about negotiating and will always seek to get the best deals for our clients. It frees up your budget, which effectively reduces our cost – win, win!
